Hailed as "young and promising," soprano Sara Oettinger has been an active performer in the greater Boston area for nearly a decade. On the operatic stage, she has been seen as the title roles in Suor Angelica, Tosca and Vanessa, as well as Mimì andMusetta (La Bohème), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Rosalinda (Die Fledermaus), the Marschallin (Der Rosenkavalier) and the Mother and the Witch (Hansel and Gretel).
Ms. Oettinger has been a frequent performer with area companies such as New England Light Opera, Metrowest Opera, Boston Opera Collaborative, Lowell House Opera, Opera by the Bay, and Riverside Theatre Works. In addition to her work on the operatic stage, Ms. Oettinger has been frequently featured on the concert stage, with organizations such as the Opera on Tap, Dante Aligheri Cultural Center of Massachusetts, the Festa della Repubblica Italiana, the New England Light Opera Summer Concert Series, “Giants of Composition" lecture series for the Elderhostel Society of Boston, and Christ the King Presbyterian Church in Cambridge, MA.
A Boston resident and native of North Carolina, Ms. Oettinger attended The Boston Conservatory and the The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned a M.M. and B.M. in Vocal Performance, respectively.
